Files for the Speeder Pad mount as well as webcam mount for the FLSun V400 3D printer

As seen in the video here. Uses M4 bolts to fix to the included T nut design

Orcaslicer profiles for Elegoo Neptune 4 3D printers

The inbuilt profile in OrcaSlicer for the Elegoo Neptune 4 is very conservative - if you want a simple way to speed up your prints by 30% please give my profile a try.

I originally downloaded the Neptune 4 profile from somebody on Reddit (who I have forgotten - Sorry! If you recognise the profile as your own please reach out to me so I can credit you). I have adjusted the profile slightly to bring the speeds down, as the profile that I did originally download was a touch too aggressive in speed and acceleration, leading to unpleasant noises.

I’ve been using this profile without issue for 4 months now. It works great!

Fanatec Podium Q ring

Before downloading the Q ring, please visit the Zappadoc website here to learn about why the original Z ring was made, and read the installation instructions.

The Q ring is the philosophical successor to Zappadoc’s Z ring. I believe it addresses all the shortcomings of the Z ring.

The indexing keyway is well matched to the QR1, the bevel geometry has been adjusted, and exists 360° around the ring instead of being unnecessarily cut through as seen in the Z ring. The clearances are all tighter, and the recess at the back of the ring has been adjusted to increase strength and also make it easier to 3D print. Overall, I believe the Q ring to be superior to its predecessor in every way - functionality, 3D-printability and aesthetic whimsy!

Please use this together with the Locking Thumbknob further down the page.

If you prefer a more subtle, clean design - the Z Ring V15q lower down on this page is still a fine solution and works well.
The file is in 3mf format for its superior resolution data compared to STL. If you have any issues of course please feel free to reach out at contact@dralanquan.com.au

Of course, modify your wheelbase at your own risk. I accept no liability for any damage to your equipment encountered following use of my files or recommendations.

The Q ring is an original, clean-sheet design by me. I referenced the design concept as well as the geometry of the Z ring, but there is little geometric resemblence between the Z ring and the Q ring. I give a lot of credit to Zappadoc for creating and releasing the original Z ring - it was a wonderful, if flawed, product but the Q ring would not exist without it.

Fanatec Podium Z ring

Before downloading any Z ring related files, please visit the Zappadoc website here to learn about why the Z ring exists, and read the installation instructions.

I have identified a key design flaw with the Z ring (version 15, which is the most current version as of August 2023) and made modifications to correct this flaw. I am calling this unofficial revision Version 15q and my hope is that Zappadoc will adopt my modification as an official version.

The modification addresses the mismatched geometry of the rectangular indexing keyway of the official Z ring versus the trapezoidal index and keyway of the Fanatec quick release and wheelbase shaft respectively.
i.e. I have incorporated a trapezoidal keyway onto the Zappadoc Z Ring design.

Zappadoc offer 2 lengths of Z ring - short (22mm) and "1mm longer" (23mm).
I personally use the short 22mm version on my own DD1 purchased in January 2021.

My recommendation is to try the short version first - if you encounter issues with the Fanatec quick release not locking into place, only then try the long version. Geometrically speaking, the short version will produce a superior, more rigid connection.

Of course, modify your wheelbase at your own risk. I accept no liability for any damage to your equipment encountered following use of my files or recommendations.

The V15q files are modified versions of files originally downloaded from the Zappadoc website in August 2023. The majority of the design is credited to Zappadoc.

Thumb knob locking nut

This is a remix of the official Z ring locking nut and was designed by Maverick440 and hosted and downloaded from Thingiverse in August 2023.

Source website here.

This is a must-have if using the Z ring. There is minimal clearance to fit a conventional wrench to secure the official locking nut, so the thumb knobs make the installation much easier. A wonderful design by Maverick440.

Fanatec Shaft Extension Support Bracket

This is my own original design as featured in my YouTube video here.

This bolts onto the face of the Podium DD1 or DD2 and supports the 100 and 125mm shaft extensions from Rudolf Kraus (eBay store here).

Rudolf contacted me to advise that his shaft dimensions have changed as of September 2023. Extensions made BEFORE this date have a shaft diameter of 33mm. Extensions made AFTER this date have a shaft diameter of 32mm. I have bearing retention sleeve designs available for both diameters on the left.

By my assessment, the Podium wheelbase motor and the shaft extension are very solidly designed - and I can't detect any instability whatsoever. I don't know that the support bracket I designed is actually necessary for stability or longevity - use at your own risk.

Notes:
A ball bearing assembly (size 6807) is needed

Dual Articulating Keyboard Tray

This was designed to improve the usability of an existing keyboard tray that I found uncomfortable - it repurposes the original aluminium profile and cast metal hinge, but adds a support pin to prevent the droop that is inevitable if the cast metal hinge is the only point of articulation.

There is another hinge assembly that supports the keyboard tray itself, which is printed in two parts so that it would fit on my print bed which is 225x225mm. Consequently, the overall length of the keyboard tray is less than 450mm and doesn’t quite fit a keyboard AND mouse side by side, but it satisfied my needs.

My printer couldn’t reproduce the threads (male or female) perfectly straight off the print bed, so I ran a steel tap and die through the relevant holes/screws to get them machined within spec - be mindful that the plastic fasteners have limited strength! Use metal fasteners if you have any doubt.

I recommend all holes in the keyboard tray arms to be tapped to M8 x 1.25mm to suit the fasteners I’ve designed (or steel alternatives). The articulating hinge threads are M12 x 1.75mm. There is a hole in the back of the hinge assembly which can also be tapped to M8 x 1.25mm for another point of mounting.

Quite a few parts, so it’s all combined in a zip file and numbered for convenience.

VNM Shifter mounting bracket

This is the bracket I use to mount the VNM shifter to my 40 series aluminium profile simrig. I use this in combination with conventional aluminium angle brackets underneath the shifter.

Shifter mounting ergonomics are very personal, so the positioning of the shifter may or may not suit your needs.
